Homemade granola

Today I decided to make some granola from scratch. It was actually really easy and yummy!

 Ingredients:
2 cups old fashioned quaker oats
1/4 cup brown sugar (could cut down if desired)
1/8 cup maple syrup
3 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup almonds or any kind of nut as desired
1 cup dried cranberries or any kind of dried fruit as desired

Preheat oven to 325f

In a microwave safe bowl combine brown sugar, maple syrup and oil. Put in microwave 20 seconds and stir together.

In mixing bowl combine oats, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in and mix well the syrup and oats.

Line cookie tray with parent paper or silpat mat and transfer handfuls of coated oats and spread evenly, leave clumps.  Bake for 10 minutes.

Flip or stir then add almonds or any kind of nut as desired (optional) on top of granola and bake another 5 minutes.

Take out of oven and let cool.  Add dried cranberries or any kind of dried fruit and store in zip lock bags for snacks during the week.
